Today is the letter E and I have to share my love of Elephants. They are the most interesting animals. They are the largest creatures on Earth and they are the only mammal that cannot jump. Elephants actually communicate. They purr, like cats!
I recently saw this picture on Facebook:
I think it is pretty neat that we can do something like this to save these wonderful creatures. And what is better than having pink tusks!
These next two pictures are just cute. They both made me smile.
The base of the card is made from River Stone Cardstock. I then took the Ink Splat ATS and River Stone Ink to create the background. I then cut a strip of the Journey Basics Neutrals Pattern Paper for the stripes and adhered it to the card.
Using the Journey Circles, I die cut the circle with the piercing element out of Whip Cream Cardstock. I used River Stone ink to distress the outside of the circle. I popped this piece up on my card using foam squares.
Next, using River Stone Cardstock, I stamped the elephant from the African Safari set (on sale this month for 30% off) in Black Licorice and fussy cut him out. I added this to the card with foam squares.
I then wrapped the Black Journey Twine around the card, tied a knot and thread a button from the Journey Color Buttons II and tied a bow.
The sentiment is from the Little BIG Greetings set (also on sale for 30% off this month) and was stamped with Black Licorice Ink on Whip Cream Cardstock. This piece is also distressed with River Stone Ink and popped up on the card.
To finish the card, I added a thick layer of Journey Glaze to the elephant to make him really stand out. Enjoy!

I didn't realize elephants could purr; very interesting! Learned something new :)
ReplyDeleteI like what they do with dying their horns. Very clever to save them!
betty
Love the horn dyeing...why isn't everyone doing it? Love the Disney elephant picture too...I can't tell if it's Disney World or Disneyland (although I think it might be DL), but cool!
