Today for the A to Z challenge, we are posting for the letter F. When I think of the letter F, as a teacher and a nature lover, I think of fish!
I love fish. I could sit and stare at an aquarium just like this all day long and be so relaxed.
Funny story, I went to Rainforest Cafe for my birthday one year with my family and they sat us next to a fish tank. This fish take was more of a cylinder standing up. I have always loved the movie "Finding Nemo" and the fish in the take looked a lot like the fish in the movie and in the picture above. We were seated there for about 2 hours and the whole time, there was a "Dory" fish that same around and around and around...... We just thought it was funny and became a running joke at the table.
Let me share my own "aquarium" card with you. I think that today's card is so cute and I can't wait to send it to a "cutie" for their birthday.
The base of the card is made from Beach Ball Cardstock. I then placed a piece of Pool Play Cardstock slightly smaller on the base of the card. I then took another piece of Pool Play and die cut with the Journey Circle with the piercing element on the outside. Before attaching to the card, I used Pool Play ink to give the "water" texture. I just went direct to paper with the ink pad to create a background.
I then stamped on Whip Cream Cardstock the little fish from the Sea Friends set with Orange Creamcicle Ink. I fussy cut them out and put a drop of Journey Glaze on the eye. I set them aside to dry while I constructed the shaker card part.
To create the shaker card, I placed a piece of transparency paper or acetate to the back of the die cut piece. I then placed foam tape around the circle, making sure there are no gaps in the tape. I then exposed the top of the tape and poured the Journey Sequins- Blue Skies onto the acetate piece. I placed the fish inside and spread them out. When I was satisfied, I then placed the card over the whole thing to create the shaker.
I then took a piece of Oatmeal Cookie cardstock and ripped it, and did direct to paper with Oatmeal Cookie ink to make it look like sand.
I also stamped the seaweed from the Sea Friends set on Limeade Splash paper with Limeade Splash ink. I fussy cut these pieces out and attached them to the card.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiments from Little Big Greetings (set on sale this month for 30% off) in Beech Breeze ink on Whip Cream Cardstock and adhered it to the card with foam squares and wrapped the Beach Breeze Thread around the whole card and tied it into a bow. Enjoy!

That is a cute card :) I enjoyed going to the Rainforest Cafe too; always so much fun to look at the fish tank, like your experience, plus all the other sights there :)

Hi Kim! I just adore this shaker card with all of the sweet "Dory" fish. Finding Nemo is one of my favorites too. Awesome all around! Thanks so much for joining my challenge this week :)
