Two Challenges in One- The Great Outdoors

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a card that I created for two different challenges.  One challenge is at Bitten By the Bug 2, with the theme: The Great Outdoors.

...and the second challenge is at Get Creative Challenge Blog with an Anything Goes challenge.

So I created this card.

I used pattern paper from Echo Park and cut with my Cricut from the Art Philosophy cartridge from Close to My Heart for the tree the owl is sitting on.

The sentiment is from Hero Arts which I stamped with black ink.

I then colored the owl with my Copics:

Owl: E39, E37, E35

Branch: E29, E27

Leaves: G94, G24

The great outdoors for me is camping and hearing the owls at night.

Now it is your turn.  Create an Outdoor project using your Cricut and join the challenge at Bitten by the Bug 2 or complete any project and join the challenge at Get Creative Challenge Blog.

Love to Craft Challenge Blog

Hello Crafty Friends,

It's a new month that means we have a new challenge at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.  This month I decided to create a easel card.

I love easel cards because the card can be displayed for all to see.

This card was made with some pattern paper I found in my stash, I don't even know where I got it.  I just loved the flowers and garden theme.

When you open the card, it stands like this.

A little trick I did was I used a border of a pattern paper and placed across the bottom of the card inside and this can be used to hold the easel part up.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.  Then create your own project and share it with us at Love to Craft Challenge Blog.

Stampin Friends Blog Hop- Well Wishes

 Hello Crafty Friends,

Welcome to the Stampin Friends Blog Hop! This month’s theme is Well wishes and Pick Me Ups.  If you are following along the hop, you have arrived from Tiziana's blog. Be sure to read through my blog, comment below and continue to Steph's blog. If you get lost along the way, you can find a list of Blog Hoppers at the end of each Blog.

Here are the projects I created for this month’s hop.

Up first is the card.  I created the card using the Forever Fern bundle from Stampin up.

I used ink over the embossed image on the solid green cardstock to add some texture and to bring the image out.

I then used the same embellishments and decorated a Skittles Box to go with the card.

I created the gold netting strip by taking one of the laser cut pieces from the bundle and cut it in half and glued the two strips together to make a long strip.

Together the box and the card, I hope will pick up the person I hope to give it to.  A sweet treat and an encouraging word with pick me up!

I hope you liked the projects I shared and you will have some ideas after continuing with the hop.  Please leave me a comment and keep on hopping.

Sorry I'm slow

Hello Crafty Friends,

I love sloths.  There I said it.  I think they are cute.  I think after I watched the "Zootopia" movie and Flash, my love for sloths grew.  If you have never seen the movie, I highly recommend it.  It is a cute movie with a great message too.

The card base is created with Butter Cream Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey, a layer of Coastal Village cardstock from Recollections and then a layer of corrugated paper.
I then stamped the sentiment from Lawn Fawn on Pool Play Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.
I then stamped the sloth with the tree branch and the party hat on Butter Cream Cardstock and colored the image with colored pencils.
I then stamped the inside of the card with a sentiment from the same stamp set.

I would imagine that a sloth would send out birthday cards late.

Road Trip Scrapbook Layout

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share a scrapbook layout I created for an album I am working on about our Road Trip in 2013.

I have had this map paper for a long time, and I thought it was the best paper for this Road trip layout.

The letters that I used for the title are cork letters, which I think look really good with the terrain.

Thanks for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Smile "W" Fold Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Continuing with my fun folds cards for May,  I have a pretty easy card, that I think looks great.  The fold for this one is a "W" shape on the inside of the card.

I guess from the picture the "W" is upside down, but you get the picture.

Here is the front of the card.

I used the Fun Stampers Journey Cardstock and Doodlebug Designs Pattern paper.  The image on the font was created using the sticker sheet from the Easter Parade Collection.

I then created a little scene on the inside with the same stickers.

The message and then be written on piece with the fence and the blue fence.

I hope I could inspire you today.  Thank you stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Hello Bug Double Easel Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you are having a great week.  Today I want to share with you another double easel card.  I think these are so fun and so easy.

I used Doodlebug Designs paper for this card.   The jar was cut with my Cricut and a svg file from Miss Kate's Cuttables.

Here is the card standing up with both easel parts.

Everything is from one sheet of Doodlebug paper.  It was the full sheet icon page, that I just cut up to fit into each area.  The hello was written just below the jar on the sheet.

The base of the card was created with Whip Cream Cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.

Thank you for stopping by.  Please leave me a comment.

Holiday Wishes

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a simple but cute card.  This card would be easy to duplicate in a hurry.

I thought this die set from Fun Stampers Journey went perfect with this pattern paper from Michael's.   The trees were dies cut from the different colors of cardstock.  Before pulling the pieces out, I placed foam squares on the back and then pulled them out.  You can see that the red one didn't keep the pieces inside, but the other two came out great.

The cardstock is from Fun Stampers Journey.

I then used the sentiment from Queen and Company's Sentiment Stacker set.

Merry and Bright

Hello Crafty Friends,

I hope you had a great weekend.  I had a wonderful Saturday crafting my friends and celebrating Christmas with them.

Today I have a card to share with you which was fun to create.

I first stamped the trees in green ink on the piece of white cardstock.  I then stamped the light bulb ends with grey ink on a scrap piece of paper and fussy cut them out.
I then added some gold star brads to the top of the trees and some red gems as ornaments for the trees.
I matted this on a piece of pattern paper  and then on a piece of red cardstock for the card base.
I finished the card by addng the sentiment with black ink and adding a white thread bow.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey except the pattern paper which is from Echo Park and the gold star brads and red gems, which were from my stash.

Colored Lights or White Lights?

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I have a card to ask the question, do you use colored lights or white lights on your tree?

I prefer the white lights because they seem so bright and sparkly.  What about you?

The card base is created with layers of cardstock and then I stamped the tree on the left side and the right side.  I then stamped the same tree on a different piece of Cardstock and detail cut the tree out.
I adhered the tree to the card with foam squares.
I then used rainbow drops from Fun Stampers Journey to the different areas of the tree.
To finish the card, I stamped the sentiment and then cut the ends into banner cuts and adhered it to the card.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey.

Christmas Trees

Hello Crafty Friends,

Christmas can not be celebrated without a Christmas tree.  I know some people have small trees or large trees.  Some have fake trees and real trees.  Whatever your preference,  I think Christmas trees are beautiful in all different colors and covered with snow.

Today's card is all about the tree.

I stamped the trees with three different colors of green ink onto the circle.   The lightest color on the circle, then a little bit darker on the one I adhered onto the circle.  The darkest color on adhered with foam squares on the top.

I stamped the sentiment with black ink and green ink.

To finish the card I added a few pearls to the card.

All supplies are from Fun Stampers Journey, except the pattern paper which is from Echo Park.

Thanks so much

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share a card I created for my October classes.

For this card, there was no stamping.  Everything is a die cut, even the sentiment.

Here is what I used:
Leaves: Cricut Cuttlebug
Pumpkin: Spellbinders
Thanks so Much: Impression Obsession.

I also embossed the leaves with the die and then added ink over the top to bring out the veins.

Sunflower Scarecrow

Hello Crafty Friends,

To me, fall means sunflowers.  I love sunflowers with their bright colors.

I knew I needed to create with this cute little scarecrow also.  I imagined he would be in a middle of a sunflower field.

I created the background with Oatmeal Cookie Cardstock, run through the Barn Wall embossing folder and anchored on Hazelnut Blend Cardstock, all from Fun Stampers Journey.  I then added a layer of Sunflower Pattern paper from Graphic 45.  I then added some twine and some burlap.
I then colored the Scarecrow with my Copics:
Overalls: B97, B95, B93
Shirt: YR68, YR15
Sticks: E37, E35
Hay: Y19, Y15
Hat Band: Y15
Hat: E35, E33
Face: Y23, Y21
Scarf and Patch: YG95, YG93

Thanks for looking.

Fall Leaves

Hello Crafty Friends,

It is finally starting to feel like fall in Southern California.  Even though we don't get to see many trees change colors and have the fun of running in the leaves, I can still have fun creating with leaves.

I created the background using a retired embossing folder from Fun Stampers Journey.  I then rubbed over the top with Hazelnut Blend ink.

The leaves were created using the dies set Seasonal Foliage die set from Cricut: Cuttlebug.  I die cut the leaves out and then while the paper was still in the die, I used the ink to stencil the veins on the leaves.

I then crinkled the leaves a little to make them look a little more real.

To finish the card, I tried  a knot with raffia and added a twine bow.

Pumpkins on the Fence

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share one last card I created for Halloween.  I knew I wanted to make a card with pumpkins on a fence.

I love the little fence die from Fun Stampers Journey, and I knew that I wanted to use it on a Halloween card.
I stamped the pumpkins from the Jack O'Lantern stamp set in Tangerine Fusion and Orange Creamsicle Cardstock.
I completed the card with a spooky moon and a Happy Halloween Sentiment.

Unique Card

Hello Crafty Friends,

Today I want to share with you a card I created for a recent swap I was a part of.  The theme was use something or do something unique on your card.   I knew exactly what I was going to use.

A few years back, maybe more like 10 years ago, I visited a scrapbook shop and purchased a package of 100% elephant dung paper.  You read that right, elephant dung.  The paper is made of elephant poop.  I bought it because it helped raise money for a charity.

Here is the card I created:

The sunset background is created with the Elephant Dung paper.
3I then stamped the Lighthouse from the stamp set Bright Side from Fun Stampers Journey and colored it with my Copics: R59, R46, E47 and E43
I used cardstock from Fun Stampers Journey.
